Molded Dimensions LLC announced today that its board of directors unanimously appointed Al Mejia as the next Chief Executive Officer. Mejia succeeds Linda Katz, the former CEO as of April 29. Linda Katz, former CEO, and Mike Katz, former President, will maintain a position on the Molded Dimensions board of directors.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Al Mejia’s caliber and experience to lead Molded Dimensions. Through Al’s leadership Molded Dimensions is poised to implement our corporate strategy and take advantage of the market opportunities ahead,” according to Linda Katz. “Al has a proven track record as an experienced business leader. He is a strong communicator who is customer and employee focused with deep leadership capabilities.”
The selection of Mejia caps an extensive search process which focused on leaders who had the skills to take Molded Dimensions to the next level, yet had the employee and customer centric passion that is the company’s hallmark. A large initial prospect pool was narrowed by stages to a group who interviewed with the Molded Dimensions board of directors, and then to a final round who met with the chief operating committee.
“Mejia is a wonderful choice from a deep pool of interested and highly qualified candidates,” said Mike Katz. “Mejia is a strategic, entrepreneurial global leader with a proven track record of building organizations and growing businesses. We are excited to welcome Al into the business.”
“I’m honored, and I’m deeply grateful to the board of directors and chief operating committee for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization of dedicated and talented personnel,” said Mejia. “This is an opportunity any leader would welcome.”
Mejia, 50, holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Masters’ Degree in Industrial Engineering from University for Illinois. He also holds advanced Business and leadership certificates from University of Wisconsin and University of Minnesota.
With over 26 years of experience, Mejia has broad and diversified industrial experience leading businesses for both leading original equipment and contract manufacturers supplying to OEMs. Mejia’s most recent positions include: VP/GM of HCI a $300M business for Johnson Controls, President of Power Packer Americas a $120M business of Actuant, and VP/GM for Rexnord’s $120M International operations in Latin America.
