Have you ever thought about how much rubber is used in your daily life? Neither had we, until today. So we asked ourselves: What would a life without rubber look like?
In this series, we’re going to talk in-depth about the ways in which rubber makes our lives easier, often in ways we don’t even notice. Join us each week for the next installment!
Let’s start with an easy one: no tires. Tires are the #1 use of rubber in the world. In fact, about 75% of the world’s natural rubber production goes towards tires alone. But did you know that cars themselves wouldn’t exist without rubber? That’s right, wiper blades, engine mounts, seals, hoses and belts are also made from rubber, and are crucial to your car’s ability to run well. Not to mention, rubber also makes your car less expensive to purchase and maintain, as rubber is durable, cheap and flexible.
